Frequently asked questions
Questions before you start?
Here is what to know about building, saving, customizing, and downloading a resume with ClickToResume.
Create My ResumeIs ClickToResume really free?
Yes. The resume builder is designed to let you create, customize, and download your resume without a subscription or a paywall at the end.
Do I need to create an account?
No. The builder does not require an account. You can open it and begin working immediately.
Where is my resume information saved?
Your working draft is stored locally in your browser. That makes autosave possible without an account, but it also means clearing browser data or moving to another device may leave the draft behind. Download a PDF or Word copy when you want a file to keep.
Can I change the resume design?
Yes. You can switch among Classic, Modern, Professional, and Creative templates and adjust the accent color, font, and spacing. Your resume content stays in place when you change the design.
Can I rearrange the sections?
Yes. The Arrange step lets you move built-in sections up or down, hide sections you do not need, and add custom sections such as certifications, awards, languages, or volunteer work.
What download formats are available?
You can use your browser's print dialog to save the styled resume as a PDF, or download an editable Word document. The Word version is intended as an editable fallback and may not look exactly like the selected web template.
Why does PDF open a print window?
ClickToResume uses the browser's print system so the PDF can preserve clean text and resume formatting. In the print window, choose your browser's Save as PDF option.
What is the Resume Readiness check?
It is a simple completeness check for common resume basics such as contact information, summary content, experience details, education, and skills. It is not an ATS score and cannot predict whether an employer or screening system will select your resume.
Can I build a two-page resume?
Yes. The resume can continue onto additional pages when your content needs the space. Review the PDF before sending it so you can catch awkward page breaks or unnecessary information.
What happens if I want to start over?
Use Start New Resume from the Review step. Because that clears the working draft in the builder, download anything you want to keep first.
